Electric vehicles (large ones like tesla, etc.) are not gonna be the solution. Perhaps a smartcar sort of vehicle with home solar panels might work, but just for local, long distance will require alternatives.

True that.
I saw somewhere hydrogen was being revisted.
I didn't click on the link to find out.

Maybe soon we all have to walk then get offered a ride by an Amish man and his horse and buggy..

What we have not yet realized, as a society (or species) that we have a limited amount of energy available to use, without destroying ourselves. Fusion/fission generates large amounts of heat, which we use to boil water and drive turbines, but the water that leaves those turbines is very hot—which we put into cooling ponds and cool by using rivers, etc., to cool. This is another way to say that "we are using nuclear fission to heat the planet."

When we develop fusion, it will generate enormously increased amounts of heat, so it is not the final solution, because if we keep increasing what we consume, we will increase the amount of global warming.

Solar power is about the best we can do. We need to stop trying to use more energy and instead work on reducing our consumption of energy. Get rid of pavement, as much as possible, which heats the planet enormously.

But I don't think any of this is gonna happen. Instead, weather and oceanic flooding will take care of the majority of us and those remaining will have to muddle along as best they can.

I was under the impression our birth rate in the USA is too low to sustain itself yet the projected population in 2060 is 416 million almost 100 more than today.
If the birth rate actually caused a decrease instead of an increase then with the population dwindling to 260 million planning the future would be a little easier.
I have my eyes on Sri Lanka
Those people are eating one meal per day and that meal being pumpkin.
Tragic.

Looking in the rear view mirror we should have threatened to nuke Russia before invading Ukraine.
Stop them.
Not because of their attempted land grab but for upsetting economic a balance across the globe.
That horse left the gate.Woulda coulda shoulda
I believe politicians have been selling us out for decades.
We were doing fine until we exported manufacturing.
WE WERE THE BEST AT IT.
Then we printed our wealth printing our currency instead of earning it with making things.

IDK
Maybe the human race has a life expectancy and it’s soilent green for the future of man kind.
And the sound of alerts for everyone to go underground at the end of every day.
